Dear all,
I’m back! I’M BACK! I’M BACK! I’M BACK!!! I am so happy to be back! Teluk Intan was not too bad this time round… I kept myself busy in a 7am-5pm schedule.. going early to the hospital to take blood, follow rounds, clerk patients, attend classes, you know, the usual drill… it was easy to distract oneself when one is in a busy rotation.. and before you know it, one day had past… I needed that distraction… my friends thought I was suddenly over-motivated… but hell, distractions are good… it reduces homesickness... and a few other things…. I tried to tired myself as much as possible, because, the lying on the bed part, every night, the reflection and thoughts, before going into slumber-land can be unbearable… so, if I’m tired enough, that miserable duration can be shorten or even skipped.
Besides, I’m still practicing the ‘I-am-happy-today-because-(fill in the blanks)-‘ thing...
The staffs here in Teluk Intan are really nice and helpful. They address the medical students here as Doctors. And they make you feel important. Even the HO(House Officers) and MO(Medical Officers) werer super nice...
A few funny things did happened at Teluk Intan hospital, a few scary,.. but I’ll leave that for another day, perhaps...
Anyway, I’m back! It feels great to be back!
Now, this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is perhaps, the end of the beginning...

Ballade Pour Adeline
i am happy because my so-called super sarcastic supervisor, Dr Halim, was in a super good mood today and he complemented my presentation at ward rounds, (yeay! i feel so motivated all over again!!)
i am happy because i did a few short cases today and managed to pick up the findings,
i am happy because i managed to examine Xin Hau at Paeds ward (after some persuasion and play) while he did not let other dr do so,
i am happy because my patient is fit for discharge today,
i am happy because i received so many happy wishes today,
i am happy that we had a great celebration at look-out-point last night (thanks to my housemates and friends who planned it!)
i am happy to receive gifts! (birthdays are the best!!)
i am happy because i shall be going out to meet my zhimuis... (just like old times)
and now, i am happy to share one of my personal favourite song with you... (no, it is not a birthday song)... hope you liked it too!
Ballade Pour Adeline (composed by Paul de Senneville and made famous by Richard Clayderman)
thank you all for the birthday wishes and more~ =)

Best Pan Mee in the World!
Like i have said, yesterday, i was happy because i ate the best pan mee in the world!! (self declared~) I do not plan to start a food blog, but good things should be shared, right? So, here you go...

Yesterday was not my first time here... (you may skip this 1st paragraph if you do not know Cheras area) my internet modem was spoil for the past few days, so I got directions to TM office in Maxis Tmn Segar. My sense of direction is like super bad, but the worse thing was, i had been given wrong directions, and a poorly drawn map.. the 20+ year old TMnet guy said that the place is after a 'very big mamak store'.. it was later on, when i arrived there that i realized that the 'very big mamak store' he was referring to was Steven's Corner! i think it is a serious offence for a 20+year old guy to call Steven's Corner a 'very big mamak store'.. come on, it's Steven's Corner!! he could have just mentioned Steven's Corner, and i might not even need directions! ~faint~
Anyway, this store is opposite Steven's Corner and the Police Station, a 3 storey corner shop lot.. and this restaurant had only 2 dishes on their menu : kuan loh pan mee (dried noodles) and cheng tong pan mee (soup noodles). They also had only one standard size serving. I guess this saved them a lot of trouble when taking orders.
Behold, the best pan mee!

This is the dried pan mee. If you are a chili-lover, this is a must have because this pan mee is served with Kin Kin Restaurant's famous fried chilies!! My friend, Suk Teng recommended this 3 step technique to eat this pan mee:

1. Firstly, put generous amount of fried chilies (yellow arrow), depending on your taste buds threshold to spiciness.

2. Secondly, break the semisolid egg yolk.

3. Lastly, mix them well!

TA-DA!! you got yourself a bowl of really tasty pan mee!! (My friend Cheryl did the mixing here, as somehow, her end product looked nicer than mine :P) The texture of the noodles is much finer than the regular pan mee. The smooth shiny coatings melts in your mouth...
Hope you will enjoy this pan mee!
Place: Restaurant Kin Kin
Food : Best Pan Mee in the world! (comes with a bowl of soup and fried dry chillies)
Location : Taman Sri Kencana, Cheras (opposite Steven's Corner and the Police Station)
Price : RM 5.30
(some might argue that the serving size is too small and it is overprice, but seriously, what you pay is what you get!)

do you believe in pseudohappiness?
Okay, maybe this word does not exist in the oxford dictionary. However, i think it should, at least for people who believed in pseudohappiness..
i am recently living by the 'i-am-happy-today-because-...(fill in the blanks)..'- theory.. i guess everyone deserved to be happy, at least once a year.. so i guess, since that big day is inching by, i should perhaps, learn to count my blessings:
i am happy because i have a happy, healthy family,
i am happy because i have good, fun, supportive friends,
i am happy because whenever i am depressed/bored, there is someone i could call,
i am happy because i am in a relatively good health,
i am happy because i managed to survived medical school till my final year,
i am happy because i am actually starting to enjoy ward rounds and on-calls, which i know is crazy, btw,
i am happy because patients have been very nice to me this week, they are very generous with smiles and 'Thank you dr' phrases, and i haven't had any rejections from patients during my rotation,
i am happy because today, i ate the best pan mee (noodles) in the world! (self-declared, which i will blog about later)
i am happy because someone said i looked pretty today, ^^
i am happy because i thought i was late for class, but end up being an hour early,
i am happy because, despite given wrong directions and a wrongly drawn map, i managed to reach my destination today, (perhaps not so geographically blind after all)
i am happy because of who i am, and what i have became,
i am happy because i have a blog which i could ventilate,
i am happy because you are spending time to read this,
i am happy because i have readers on my blog, who are friendly and supportive,
i am happy for all the big and little things,
i am happy because of all the reasons above and more...
some updates on my life:
- i was not able to online as usual, for the past few days because, my modem broke down, and the hostel internet (which was my alternative option) blocked most of the online sites, including my mail and blogs (sigh...).. but it's okay, we got ourselves a new modem today =) (and i am happy for that)
- i had a super sarcastic supervisor for my medical rotations, who started our briefing last Monday with : 'i am not your friend, and i will never be your friend, so do not smile at me, and we should keep a space between us'... i used to like sarcasm, but it doesn't seem very nice when it's used against us, oh well... but, i have to admit, he is a very smart, hardworking and competent specialist, there is so much i could learn from him... so, the sarcasm, it's okay...
- i'll be in teluk intan hospital again, next week, for a one week rotation.. although i used to dread going to the place, but i guess, some time off would do me good... and i am happy because it is just a one week =)
so, there you go, my first happy blog post.. not too bad for a start, ey? Perhaps, i should consider changing the header to a more happy one too.. though i really liked this current existing header..

What are the meanings of your birthdate???
i was at Anita's blog, when i saw this, so, i thought, why not try it out:
| Your Birthdate: October 10
|
|
You're very confident, and hardly anything ever shakes you. (really?) Mundane tasks tend to drain you - you prefer to be making great plans. (since when?) You are quite original. When people don't "get" you, it bothers you a lot. (hmm... maybe sometimes...) Affection is like air for you - you need to give and receive it to survive. You connect with others freely and easily - and you tend to have many best friends. Warm and caring, it's hard for you to close your heart to anyone. Your strength: Your ability to gain respect Your weakness: Caring too much what others think Your power color: Orange-red Your power symbol: Letter X Your power month: October (this is my power month!) |

| Your Birthdate: October 10
|
|
You don't just believe in love at first sight - you've experienced it. (huh? when???) You develop crushes pretty easily, but keeping your interest is another matter! (really?) You are very prone to love - hate relationships. (haha!) Number of True Loves You'll Have: 2 (i wonder how they calculate this!) Number of Times You'll Have Your Heart Broken: 2 You are most compatible with people born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, and 28th of the month. |

| Your Life Path Number is 6
|

Your purpose in life is to help others (so, this is my purpose! *with great enthusiasm*) You are very compassionate, and you offer comfort to those around you. (really??) It pains you to see other people hurting, and you do all in your power to help them. You take on responsibility, and don't mind personal sacrifice. You are the ultimate giver. (NO WAY!! then i mah very cham... don't want! =P) In love, you offer warmth and protection to your partner. You often give too much of yourself, and you rarely put your own needs first. (sien..) Emotions tend to rule your decisions too much, especially when it comes to love. (got so emotional or not wor...) And while taking care of people is great, make sure to give them room to grow on their own. (okay... will ignore everyone and let them grow =P) |

of love
Today, i heard a story which was not a story of falling...
of living in the dark end of winter turmoil..
of living in the dark end of winter turmoil..
instead, it was a love story..
of a couple who did not live happily ever after...but they live, loving each other..
